Have you ever tried to understand the meaning of your last names? from which language does it come from? what’s its origin or roots? well, since my last name is “Daou” which means “Light” in the Lebanese language , my nickname became “Z-Light” /as The Light /. Family names are as much weird as funny sometimes, depending on its pronunciation and meanings. “The Yellow Baker is Living forgiveness in my eye, with the net’s Father knitting white sugar in naughty priest brain”. What the ?! :S well, these words were just an example of the meaning of common Lebanese family names 😛 (they are pronounced: Asfar, Khabbaz, Ayyach, Samaha, Beani, AbouChabake, Khayyat, Abiad, sekkar, Azaar, Khoury, Akl…)
Afterall, Z-Light isn’t as bad as I had thought 😀 Light has a positive meaning and it keeps me optimist in life and raises me up when I’m in Darkness. Also, with time, I realized I was interested in Lighting effects in graphism and animations, as well as Light and Shadow contrast in Drawings.. Besides, nightlife in Lebanon rocks with good Lighting set ups 😉
Here’s a Graffiti I did on illustrator in 2010, then colored it by hand just for fun:
Now that you know my family name and its meaning you might wonder: why my blog’s name is Z-Light Dimensions?
well my friends, you’ll find out in the later posts my artistic world: my graphic work, photos I take, my poems, my music compositions, my interest in Virtual Tours, my animations…
So I hope you enjoy my Dimensions!
Till next time 🙂
